ANDREA BELLINI
Born in Italy but resident in Lisbon, Andrea Bellini is a pianist with an unconventional path. He owes his musical training to a combination of multiple experiences and to contact with some illustrious exponents of the great Russian, American and Central European piano schools. He studied Skrjabin's compositional system in depth, which exerted a profound fascination on him. He also developed a deep interest in Far Eastern music. His innate curiosity and numerous collaborations with conductors, instrumentalists, singers and composers from different backgrounds and latitudes, led him to explore a vast and heterogeneous repertoire.
From Bach to Yiruma, Andrea Bellini's style is distinguished by a rigorous technique combined with a great tonal sensitivity, the combination of which favors the emergence of impalpable and fascinating sound worlds.
The title of Andrea Bellini's album "Yiruma - Songs Without Words" - is taken from the words of the same South Korean composer who, in an interview released in Italy, described his way of working as follows: "I spend most time writing a melody tune which sounds like a song but without words. That might be a reason why people love to play my music."
